IAM Driver Training and NT Visit, Taunton, Somerset
Sunday April 18th. Organiser: Alison Budd
Driver Training session with the Institute of Advanced Motorists followed by a visit to Barrington Court National Trust property
According to the TV advert, cats prefer IAMs so I am sure that our Peugeot lions will also enjoy IAM.
This time, however, we're talking about the Institute of Advanced Motorists!
This is a chance to meet a qualified observer who will be a passenger in your car while you drive a pre-determined route along normal roads.
The idea of the session is not to declare whether you are a good driver (or not!), but to increase awareness of advanced driving skills. There is no test involved!!
This is a free session, normally only available to IAM members at a cost of 35 GBP.
Please remember to bring your certificate of motor insurance, driving licence and MOT (if applicable) with you on the day as IAMs requires sight of these documents.
Please register your interest by Thursday 15th April so the right number of observers are available.
After the driving session, there will be plenty of time to compare notes over lunch and to explore Barrington Court, the first large country house bought by the National Trust. There's plenty to see, including the 2 mansions and Gertrude Jekyll designed gardens.
