Cars: Peugeot 205 GRD
Douglas owns this 1986 Peugeot 205 GRD, with the 1769cc XUD diesel engine. Douglas tells us he grew up with the car as his parents owned it since he was 5 years old. He recalls he and his brother moaning about the lack of space on long journeys so his dad then bought a 406! The 205 then went to his uncle, but ended up back with Douglas as an 18th Birthday present. It's really supposed to be beige in colour but as it got older it rusted around the bootlid and the window leaked. "I bought the red lid from a scrapyard" said Douglas, "The blue panels came from another 205 I was given". Douglas and his dad swapped the bit from the doner car. It might get resprayed but the multi colours are unique! The car has covered 220,000 miles.
