Brooklands Double 12 Motorsport Festival Saturday 15th & Sunday 16th June 2019
Brooklands Museum, Brooklands Road, Weybridge, KT13 0SL
The idea for the Festival stems back to the early years of the track, when the organisers wanted to run a 24-hour race, but due to pressure from the local residents, it had to be split in half and run in 2 sections during the day on a Saturday and Sunday. Brooklands now run this weekend as a celebration of what went on there during that event, with a pair of sporting events, the Speed Trials and the Driving Tests run in conjunction with the Vintage Sports Car Club, along with displays of Classic cars around the site and the “Pride of Brooklands” concours competition, which will feature, new for this year, an award for the “People’s Choice” to be voted for by the visitors to the event. There will also be live music and children’s activities on both days to keep everyone entertained. The Classic Car displays can be for Clubs to come and show off their cars to the visitors during either or both days, as well as owners who want to come along on their own. As the Sunday is Father’s Day, there will be an opportunity to treat Dad to a great day out along with lunch in the The Railton Bistro, located in the Clubhouse first floor Napier Room. The rest of the Museum and its exhibits will be open as normal, so you can treat yourself to a walk round the Motoring Village and the Aircraft Park, as well as taking in the Concorde Experience or the 4-D Theatre (both bookable on the day at extra cost.) Entries for the Driving Tests and “Pride of Brooklands” competitions are open to all comers, with the rules and entry forms being available from the Brooklands Museum web-site, as is other information about the weekend’s events, including ticket prices.
